Ex-NY mayor gets harmed in road accident

(MENAFN) Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani sustained injuries in a car accident in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Giuliani, 81, was a passenger in a Ford Bronco when it was rear-ended on Saturday evening, according to reports from local authorities. Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s security guard, stated, "He was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg."

Known as "America’s Mayor" for his leadership during 9/11, Giuliani later served as an adviser and personal lawyer to Donald Trump, although the two have since parted ways. Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital.

The accident occurred shortly after Giuliani had assisted a person who had reportedly flagged him down as an alleged victim of domestic violence. "Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911," Ragusa added.

Police noted that officers were investigating a domestic violence report nearby when they observed the crash on the opposite side of the road. "As a result of the collision, both vehicles went into the median and were heavily damaged," authorities said.
