Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) issued an administrative decision to close a food company specializing in the production and distribution of baked goods and food products for a period of one month, in violation of the provisions of Article (13-7) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection in Qatar

MoCI's decision to close Ritos Bakery and Trading Company was a result of its failure to adhere to public health and safety requirements, and the use of products of unknown origin in the production of meals, which threatens the health and safety of consumers.

The unverified products were seized and the matter was referred to the relevant authorities to complete legal procedures.

The closure forms part of the inspection visits and monitoring measures carried out by the Ministry, aimed at ensuring that food establishments comply with laws and health requirements.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the highest possible level of food safety in the local market and has urged the public to report issues related to food safety through Call Center 16000.
