(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) condemned on Wednesday the ongoing Israeli occupation airstrikes on Gaza, including a recent attack on Nasser Medical, urging international action to stop the aggression against Palestinians.
AIPU's President Ibrahim Boughali said in a statement that the latest strikes on the medical facility killed more than 20 people, among them journalists, doctors, and relief workers.
He reiterated that such repeated crimes constitute a blatant violation of the international humanitarian law as well as deliberately targeting civilians, journalists and aid workers in an attempt to silence the truth.
Boughali also held the international community responsible for what he described a "shameful silence" that makes it a direct cover for Israeli occupation continued genocide.
IPU renewed its call for urgent and immediate international action to put an end to Israeli occupation's ongoing crimes against Palestinians and the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory. (end)
