About Legacy Treatment Services, Inc.
Legacy Treatment Services, a nonprofit company in New Jersey, provides comprehensive behavioral health, addiction recovery, and developmental support services for individuals and families across all age groups. Its affiliate, CTS, delivers specialized programs including residential care, advanced clinical treatment, and targeted assistance for youth impacted by human trafficking or transitioning from the child welfare system.
What happened?
Between October 6 and October 11, 2024, an unauthorized party accessed Legacy's network and may have obtained certain personal information, including protected health information maintained by both Legacy and CTS. After an investigation, it was found that the potentially compromised data includes names and one or more of the following identifiers: Social Security number, date of birth, driver's license or state ID number, phone number, email address, passport number, financial account details, routing number, bank name, credit or debit card number, card CVV, expiration date, login credentials, medical diagnosis, clinical and treatment information, treatment type, location, cost, doctor's name, medical record or patient account number, health insurance details, prescription data, and/or biometric data.
How can I protect my personal data?
If you receive a data breach notification concerning Legacy and CTS, you should take steps to protect yourself against identity theft and fraud by regularly reviewing your account statements and monitoring your credit reports for any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
