Doha, Qatar: The Customs officials at Hamad International Airport (HIA) foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin into Qatar, hidden inside electronic devices.
The inspectors became suspicious of a traveler's luggage upon his arrival in the country.
A thorough inspection, which included using specialized scanning devices, revealed several packages of heroin hidden inside the metal frame of his suitcase.
Upon further inspection, more packages were found inside his laptop, speakers, and a hair blower, masterfully wrapped in black tape and concealed within the electronic equipment.
Custom officials then concluded the search, finding a total of 13 packages of heroin, weighing a total of 520 grams.
