PM Modi Flags Off Maruti Suzuki's 1St Electric Vehicle E-Vitara


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off Maruti Suzuki's first electric vehicle e-Vitara from the Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The made-in-India Maruti e-Vitara will be exported to more than 100 countries, including Japan.

Modi also inaugurated the lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility by Suzuki, Toshiba, and Denso, supporting hybrid and electric vehicle battery production.

Following the launch, Japan's Suzuki Motor said it would invest Rs 70,000 crore in India over the next five to six years. This would be to increase production, launch new models and defend its market share in the world's third-largest car market.

The new Maruti e Vitara will be available with two battery pack options – 61.1kWh and 48.8kWh. Both options, paired with a single electric motor, are claimed to return a range of 500km on a single charge. Additionally, the battery can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in 50 minutes via a DC fast charger.

The 2025 e Vitara will be available in three variants, namely Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Customers will be able to choose from a range of 10 colours, including Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Nexa Blue, and dual-tone shades that include Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, and Arctic White, all with a Bluish Black roof. -With inputs from PTI
