292 Prisoners Released After UAE Mediates Ukraine-Russia Exchange

UAE mediation between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in the release of 292 prisoners, involving 146 from each side.

This brings the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries in these mediations to 4,641.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the two countries for their cooperation in the success of the Emirati mediation efforts.

The prisoner swap reflects their appreciation for the UAE as a reliable mediator working to support efforts aimed at resolving the crisis between the two countries, the Mofa statement added.

The total number of Emirati mediations during the crisis reached 17, reflecting the depth of relations between the UAE, Russia and Ukraine.

The ministry affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to ensure the success of all efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine and mitigating its humanitarian impact.
