Ranil Admitted To ICU At Colombo National Hospital
(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Colombo National Hospital after being transferred from the prison hospital.
Wickremesinghe was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital from the prison hospital on medical advise.
The Colombo National Hospital said that Wickremesinghe was in a stable condition.
Wickremesinghe was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Friday over allegations he misused Government funds to travel to London to attend a private function.
The former President appeared before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and was questioned over the allegations before he was arrested.
Wickremesinghe was accused of misusing Government funds to travel to London to attend a graduation ceremony of his wife, Professor Maithree Wickremesinghe in 2023 when he was President.
