Houthis say they attacked Israeli airport as response back

(MENAFN) Yemen’s Houthi movement announced on Sunday that it had fired a hypersonic ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, describing the attack as retaliation for an Israeli strike on a power facility in the capital, Sanaa.

In a televised address, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea declared that the missile had reached its target, saying it caused millions of Israelis to “rush to shelters and suspend the airport's operations.”

He added that the operation was carried out in response to Israel’s “crimes of genocide and starvation in Gaza” as well as its “aggression against Yemen.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli military stated that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, which triggered nationwide sirens but caused no reported damage or casualties.
