Amman, Aug. 5 (Petra) -- In a move aimed at closing the gap between academia and the job market, the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, chaired by Dhafer Al-Sarayrah, has approved the integration of professionals from various industries into university teaching and training roles, particularly in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science.
Al-Sarayrah emphasized that preparing students for real-world challenges requires aligning academic programs with labor market needs. To ensure quality, only experts affiliated with institutions approved by the commission will be eligible to contribute.
This decision marks a strategic shift in how Jordan's higher education system approaches skills development, placing greater emphasis on practical experience and hands-on learning. By leveraging the expertise of professionals who are actively engaged in today's fast-evolving industries, the commission aims to equip students with competencies that go beyond theory.
The initiative also reflects national efforts to future-proof academic outcomes and make higher education more responsive to the demands of an innovation-driven economy.
