US Secretary of State phone French FM to discuss regional matters
(MENAFN) On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to discuss several pressing regional matters.
According to a statement from the State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, both leaders "reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring Iran never develops or acquires a nuclear weapon."
They also shared perspectives regarding the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the heavily affected area.
Other significant issues covered during their discussion included the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the pursuit of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the continuing unrest in Sudan, the spokesperson added.
