Iran Reaffirms Commitment to Uranium Enrichment
(MENAFN) Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday reaffirmed the country’s commitment to domestic uranium enrichment, citing its necessity for producing radiopharmaceuticals and fueling Iran’s emerging nuclear power reactors.
“No one in their right mind would abandon the fruits of tremendous investment in homegrown and peaceful technology which is saving lives -- and simply because bullying foreigners demand it,” Araghchi stated in a post on the social media platform X.
Tehran has intensified its diplomatic outreach in recent weeks amid renewed international attention on its nuclear activities. On Friday morning, Iran restarted negotiations with France, Britain, and Germany—collectively referred to as the E3—in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Further developments are expected in the coming days. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced Monday that a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Iran within the next two weeks. During this visit, Iranian officials plan to present a new framework outlining the future scope of cooperation between Tehran and the IAEA.
