
KP Govt Announces Compensation For Tirah Firing Victims, Summons Tribal Jirga To Peshawar
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced financial assistance for the victims of the recent incident in Tirah, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives.
According to Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Dr. Saif, the families of those killed will receive Rs10 million, while Rs2.5 million will be given to the injured.
Barrister Saif stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is personally overseeing the situation and remains in constant contact with the relevant authorities.
He added that a jirga of tribal elders has been summoned to Peshawar, where the government will listen to their concerns.
“The KP government is deeply saddened by the incident and stands in complete solidarity with the affected families during this difficult time,” Dr. Saif said.

He also revealed that in an effort to prevent such incidents in the future, an all-parties conference was convened last week. However, he criticized the Governor and opposition parties for boycotting the session, calling it an act of irresponsibility.
The provincial government has assured that all possible support will be extended to the victims' families, and immediate steps are being taken to improve the situation.
It may be recalled that on the previous day, tensions escalated outside the headquarters of the central Bagh Brigade in Tirah Maidan, Khyber, when forces reportedly opened fire to disperse protesters, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to eight others.
However, as per the media reports, quoting security sources, Khawarij, a term used for the banned TTP militant, were responsible for inhuman act, opening fire on peaceful protesters.
