Türkiye's BIST 100 Index Climbs Sharply


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s primary stock market index concluded Monday’s trading session at 10,616.18 points, marking a significant increase of 2.41%.

Beginning the week at 10,199.25 points, the Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 250.02 points compared to the closing level on Friday.

During the day, the index’s lowest level was 10,413.24 points, while its peak reached 10,641.00 points.

The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 hovered around 9.8 trillion Turkish liras (equivalent to $243.5 billion), with the trading volume totaling 115 billion Turkish liras (approximately $2.85 billion).

Out of the stocks listed in the index, 95 experienced price increases, while five saw declines relative to the previous closing figures.

At 6:55 p.m. local time (15:55 GMT), gold was priced at $3,398.20 per ounce, and Brent crude oil was trading at $68.10 per barrel.

The currency exchange rates stood at 40.3880 for the US dollar to Turkish lira, 47.3120 for the euro to Turkish lira, and 54.5730 for the British pound to Turkish lira.
