West Ham Secures Kyle Walker-Peters in Three-Year Deal
(MENAFN) West Ham United officially announced on Sunday the acquisition of England international Kyle Walker-Peters, who has signed a three-year contract following his exit from Southampton.
The 28-year-old defender, capped twice by England’s senior team, arrives at the London Stadium after a five-year tenure at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium, where he featured in more than 200 matches.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Walker-Peters expressed enthusiasm about joining West Ham: “It feels like it has been a long time coming. I’ve been linked with a move to the Club in the past, and I’m just happy to be here now.”
He further shared his competitive mindset: “I like to play with intensity, give my all in every game, and I want to try and achieve special things here.”
West Ham’s Head Coach Graham Potter welcomed the signing, highlighting his longstanding admiration for Walker-Peters and emphasizing the defender’s potential to bring “high-quality competition and good character” to the squad.
Walker-Peters began his professional journey at Tottenham Hotspur, where he made his Premier League debut in 2017. That same year, he was part of England’s victorious FIFA U20 World Cup team in South Korea.
By the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, Walker-Peters has amassed 148 appearances in the Premier League.
West Ham’s first league encounter of the season is scheduled for August 16 against Sunderland.
