(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook regarding the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16.

Yesterday, the Russians launched two missile strikes and 54 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, using two missiles and dropping 86 guided aerial bombs.

In addition, the enemy carried out 5,574 shellings, 68 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 3,869 loitering munitions to strike.

Air strikes were carried out on the areas of the settlements of Zybine and Odradne in the Kharkiv Region; Rodynske, Sukhyi Yar, Myrnohrad, and Novopoltavka in the Donetsk Region; Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia Region; and Lvove in the Kherson Region.

The aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck six areas where personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, three command posts, two air defense systems, and one artillery system of the Russian invaders.

Over the past day, 21 combat clashes took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors . In addition, the enemy carried out 10 air strikes, dropping 23 guided bombs, and carried out 363 shelling attacks, including 10 with multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector , the Defense Forces repelled seven Russian attacks near Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, and Stroivka.

Five enemy attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector . The Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove, Pishchane, and toward Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector , the enemy attacked 25 times, trying to advance near the settlements of Novyi Myr, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, towards Shandryholove and Serebrianka.

In the Siversk sector , Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near Hryhorivka and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector , seven clashes were recorded in the areas of Predtechyne, Bila Hora, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector , Russian troops carried out 11 attacks near Dyliivka, Toretsk, Novospaske, and Rusyn Yar.

In the Pokrovsk sector , Ukrainian defenders stopped 60 assaults by the Russian army in the areas of the settlements of Mykolaivka, Shevchenko, Molodetske, Horikhove, Popiv Yar, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Zvirove, Udachne, Oleksiivka, and towards the settlements of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Muravka Filia, and Dachne.

In the Novopavlivka sector , the Defense Forces stopped 27 enemy attempts to break through the defensive lines in the areas of the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Piddubne, Lisne, Myrne, Maliivka, Shevchenko, Novosilka, Zelenе Pole, and toward the settlements of Komyshuvakha, Temyrivka, and Novokhatsk.

In the Huliaipole sector , the Defense Forces successfully stopped one Russian assault near Malynivka.

In the Novodanylivka area in the Orikhiv sector , Ukrainian defenders also repelled one enemy assault.

In the Prydniprovske sector , Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight Russian attacks in the Antonivskyi Bridge area and near the Kozulskyi and Zabych islands.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors , no signs of enemy offensive formations were detected.

According to Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to July 16, 2025, in the war against Ukraine amount to about 1,037,460 people, including 1,170 people over the past day .
