China Says Sanctions On Russia Will Not Stop War In Ukraine
“China strongly opposes any illegal unilateral sanctions and 'long arm' jurisdiction [the imposition of sanctions by one country against another on the basis of its own legislation], tariff wars and pressure will not help solve the problem,” Lin said.
“We believe that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve the 'Ukrainian crisis' [as the PRC calls Russia's war against Ukraine],” he added.
The foreign ministry spokesman traditionally reiterated that Beijing has always taken a clear and unambiguous position on the Ukrainian issue.
“We hope that all parties will contribute to creating a favorable atmosphere for a political settlement of the 'Ukrainian crisis,' create the necessary conditions, and take more constructive steps toward reconciliation and facilitating negotiations,” the Chinese diplomat said.
