Army Thwarts Drug Smuggling Attempt Using Two Drone

Amman, July 11 (Petra)-- The Southern Military Zone thwarted a drug smuggling attempt utilizing two drones on its western front and inside its jurisdiction.
According to a military source in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army's General Command, "Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle narcotics using two drones that attempted to cross the border."
The source clarified that following drone tracking and monitoring, the rules of engagement were implemented. The recovered materials were turned over to the appropriate authorities after the drones were intercepted and brought down inside Jordanian territory.
In order to ensure the security of the country and the safety of its residents, the source confirmed that the Armed Forces will continue to carry out their national duty with maximum efficiency and vigilance, guarding the country's borders and stopping any attempts to smuggle drugs.
