The attack occurred late Thursday night on the Loralai-Musakhel highway. Armed militants stopped passenger buses traveling to Punjab, checked passengers' identity cards, and executed selected individuals by firing at close range.
Government sources confirmed that at least nine innocent passengers were martyred in this brutal assault. All victims hailed from various cities across Punjab.
Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan, Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry, said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, five ambulances had been dispatched to Balochistan to bring back the bodies of the victims.
CM Balochistan Vows Harsh Response
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has issued a strong condemnation following the abduction and killing of nine innocent passengers traveling from Quetta to Lahore. He described the attack as an act of cowardice and brutality by terrorists, vowing that the state will respond with full force.
In a statement, CM Bugti said,“Killing innocent people based on Pakistani identity is an unforgivable crime. The blood of the innocent will not go in vain. This is a war of the state, and there will be a decisive outcome. We will dismantle every network of Fitna-e-Hindustan's terrorists.”
The attack occurred when militants intercepted a passenger bus and abducted nine individuals, who were later executed. The incident has sparked national outrage.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind also condemned the attack, stating that Fitna-e-Hindustan carried out three terrorist attacks in the province on the same day, all of which were repelled except for this tragic incident. He emphasized that the targeting and brutal killing of innocent civilians is part of a disturbing pattern and a continuation of previous cross-border aggression.
“The government of Balochistan strongly condemns this heinous act,” Rind added.“The terrorists showed their true savagery by pulling passengers off a bus and executing them mercilessly.”
