DGCA Chief, Airbus EVP Mull Prospects Of Aviation Industry

KUWAIT, July 10 (KUNA) -- President of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Sheikh Eng. Humoud Mubarak H. J. Al-Sabah received on Thursday Executive Vice President of Airbus Wouter van Wersch and his party to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the air industry and services.
The DGCA attaches great importance to its relationship with the world's leading aircraft manufacturers notably Airbus which enjoys considerable expertise in hi-tech industries, Sheikh Humoud said in statements to KUNA following the meeting.
"The State of Kuwait is keen on benefiting from this expertise to meet the needs of national airlines and enhance their operating capacities on a par with the world's latest standards," he affirmed.
On his part, Wersch who leads a delegation from the European aerospace corporation on an official visit to Kuwait, expressed joy for the relations between his corporation and Kuwait.
He reaffirmed that Airbus is committed to backing Kuwait's plans for upgrading its civil aviation sector.
Airbus is constantly working to provide innovative solutions to the operating capacity of the air industry and ensuring sustainability of environment in keeping with the global guidelines for emission reduction, he pointed out.
During the meeting, both sides also discussed the joint training programs, Kuwait efforts to build the capacity of its national cadres, and investment in air transport projects.
Earlier today, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired a meeting at Bayan Palace with Airbus delegation in the presence of ambassadors of Germany, Spain, and France to Kuwait. (end)
