Umerov Announces Launch Of DOT-Chain Defense 'Weapon Marketplace' For AFU

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, Umerov shared the news on Facebook .

“Today, DOT-Chain Defense officially launched - a new digital system that accelerates and simplifies the supply of weaponry to our Défense Forces. It functions as a kind of weapons marketplace, designed for the rapid provision of resources to the front line,” he said.

According to the minister, 10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will participate in the pilot phase. The Ministry of Defense has allocated 1 billion UAH to the Defense Procurement Agency for this initiative. Using the system, units can now order FPV drones and, soon, other types of UAVs, electronic warfare tools, and robotic systems through the State Logistics Operator's IT platform.

“Each military unit will be able to select exactly what it needs to accomplish its missions. At the same time, the Defense Procurement Agency will handle financing and delivery without unnecessary bureaucracy. Delivery will now take weeks instead of months,” Umerov explained.

He emphasized that DOT-Chain Defense is transparent, competitive, and fully digital, modeled after the army's food supply system, which has already proven effective.

The minister also outlined how the system works: military units independently select, order, and reserve required equipment; track delivery times; leave feedback; and receive rapid support. Manufacturers gain a clear mechanism for cooperation with the government and direct feedback from military users. The state sees the real-time frontline needs, makes data-driven decisions, supports defense industry growth, and drives innovation.

“We are creating a new model of weapons supply for our defenders - flexible, transparent, and fast,” Umerov concluded.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on June 10, the future functionality of the DOT-Chain Defense digital weapon marketplace was presented to the military. The platform enables units to directly choose and order weapons through Defense Ministry agencies.
