“She’s incredibly talented,” Melania Trump praises Taylor Swift ahead of July 4 celebrations

(MENAFNEditorial) First Lady Melania Trump, 55, visited Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she brought teddy bears and gifts for about ten child patients. During a cheerful arts-and-crafts session, she chatted with the youngsters about their favorite foods, sports, and music — and was asked, “You know what we’re celebrating tomorrow?” A child promptly replied, “Independence Day!”

One little fan declared Taylor Swift as their favorite singer. With a warm smile, Melania replied, “She is very talented.” When another child mentioned liking Sabrina Carpenter, the First Lady responded, “She’s great too.”

Melania went on to describe the upcoming Fourth of July events at the White House — including a “big party” and the possibility of inviting the children next year — and helped place American flags in the hospital’s Bunny Mellon Healing Garden. She then presented a yellow tea rose named “Eternal Flame” for the garden, where she has now become the eighth First Lady to visit — following in the footsteps of Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and others.

Notably, Melania’s praise of Taylor Swift comes just weeks after her husband publicly mocked the singer. In May, former President Trump commented online: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Swift had previously endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
