
Rayhan Wanniappa Appointed As Acting DG Of Sri Lanka's Civil Aviation
Prior to this appointment, Wanniappa served as the Deputy Director General (Air Transport and Security Regulation) at Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, while also attending to the duties of Additional Director General of Civil Aviation.
Rayhan, an Attorney-at-Law, brings over 20 years of professional experience, encompassing both private legal practice and his service at CAASL.
Wanniappa is respected for his expertise in aviation legislation, bilateral air service agreements, air transport policy development, and broader industry affairs.
He holds an Advanced Master's in Air Transport Management from the French National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC) and has played a vital role in strengthening regulatory frameworks and aviation security in Sri Lanka in alignment with global standards.
In addition to his regulatory contributions, he also serves as a visiting lecturer at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and actively participates in public speaking and leadership development through Toastmasters.
