Türkiye’s Exports Soar to Unprecedented USD267B in June


(MENAFN) Türkiye's 12-month rolling exports reached an unprecedented $267 billion in June, marking a new milestone, according to Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat, who made the announcement on Wednesday.

In June, exports saw an 8% year-on-year increase, totaling $20.54 billion. Meanwhile, imports surged 15.3%, hitting $28.7 billion, as per data from the Trade Ministry.

The nation's foreign trade deficit stood at $8.17 billion for June, with the export-import coverage ratio recorded at 71.5%.

Bolat highlighted during a press briefing in Istanbul that June's 8% export growth was the largest such increase over the past year.

Looking at the January-to-June period, exports grew 4.1% to $131.44 billion, while imports climbed 7.2%, totaling $180.87 billion.

During the first half of the year, Türkiye posted a foreign trade deficit of $49.43 billion, with the export-import coverage ratio at 72.7%.
