Military attack in Pakistan causes death of one civilian, injuring others

(MENAFN) At least one civilian lost their life and seven others were injured during a militant assault in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Tuesday, according to an official. In response, security forces killed two militants.

The attack took place in Mastung district when armed attackers opened fire, killing a 16-year-old boy and wounding seven others, said Shahid Rind, spokesperson for the Balochistan government.

Security personnel, including the Frontier Corps, Counter-Terrorism Department, and Levies, quickly reacted by sealing off the area and forcing the militants to withdraw.

Rind added, "An intense gun battle ensued as security forces encircled the militants, in which two terrorists were killed and three others sustained injuries."
