China Calls on Nationals Again to Avoid Traveling to Iran
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, China reiterated its warning to citizens against traveling to Iran, even as a fragile ceasefire remains in effect between Tehran and Israel, according to state media reports.
The Chinese Embassy in Iran issued a notice urging nationals to postpone any travel plans to the region, as reported by state-run media.
The embassy highlighted that while the ceasefire between Israel and Iran holds, the security situation in Iran remains volatile and unpredictable.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry had already issued a similar advisory to its citizens, advising them to avoid visiting Iran.
The embassy further emphasized that Chinese nationals already residing in Iran should closely follow safety guidelines, stay prepared for emergencies, and steer clear of high-risk areas.
Tensions between Israel and Iran escalated on June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites, triggering a retaliatory response from Iran.
The conflict saw the United States intervene, bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities.
After 12 days of intense clashes, the fighting was halted by a US-backed ceasefire agreement, which was implemented on June 24.
