Russian Missile Strikes on Ukraine Claim Twenty Lives

(MENAFN) A barrage of Russian ballistic missiles struck Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region on Tuesday, leaving 20 dead and around 300 wounded, according to regional governor Sergii Lysak in a statement issued Wednesday.

The city of Dnipro bore the brunt of the attack, with 18 fatalities reported there. Two additional deaths occurred in the nearby city of Samar after missiles targeted a key infrastructure site, Lysak confirmed.

The strikes in Dnipro unleashed widespread devastation, severely damaging nearly 50 residential high-rises, approximately 40 educational institutions, eight medical facilities, and multiple infrastructure sites, said Mayor Borys Filatov.

"In terms of damage, this is probably one of the most audacious attacks on Dnipro," Filatov stated on Telegram.
