Kuwait Diplomat, Swedish Parliament Speaker Discuss Bilateral Ties

KUWAIT, June 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sweden Mohammad Hayati and Swedish Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlen tackled bilateral relations and recent development in the region.
A statement by Kuwait Embassy in Sweden received by KUNA said that the ambassador met the Swedish Speaker on Tuesday in Stockholm.
The statement added that the meeting also delved into the historical relations between the two countries, which this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Sweden.
The Parliament Speaker offered his congratulations on this occasion.
The two sides also discussed aspects of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting also highlighted Kuwait's investment presence in Sweden and the successful partnership in the energy sector between the two countries through the joint ownership of 80KQ, which operates in the fuel supply, transportation, and other services sectors.
The statement also noted the distinguished presence of many Swedish companies in the Kuwaiti market, such as Volvo, IKEA, Ericsson, H&M, and others.
The statement continued, Ambassador Hayati reviewed areas of cooperation that the Kuwaiti side looks forward to benefiting from, including Swedish expertise, particularly in the health and pharmaceutical sectors, innovation, artificial intelligence, and information technology. (end)
