Trump: Ceasefire In Mideast Comes To Effect, All Sides Must Abide

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, June 24 (KUNA) -- President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that a ceasefire between the Israeli occupation and Iran was now in effect and called on all sides abide by the agreement.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump stated, "THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!"
Trump announced yesterday that the two sides would cease hostiles, ending what he dubbed as the "12 Day War."
Minutes prior to the ceasefire, the Israeli occupation media said that Iranian rockets had hit occupied territories, causing casualties and destruction.
The whole "12 Day War" began on June 13 when the Israeli occupation carried out airstrikes on Iran ahead of scheduled negotiations between the US and Iran in Oman on the latter nuclear file.
Iran retaliated with a barrage of missiles against the Israeli occupation, targeting several cities including Haifa and Tel Aviv.
On June 22, the US carried out airstrikes against three nuclear facilities in Iran, which Trump deemed as a "success." (end)
