Beijing: The 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) kicked off Wednesday in China, featuring around 220,000 books from both local and global publishers.
The 31st BIBF, running until next Sunday, hosts over 1,700 exhibitors from 80 countries. Malaysia is serving as the guest of honor for this edition.
Several accompanying events are being held on the sidelines of the event, including a book award ceremony, various forums, competitions and art exhibitions.
The BIBF aims to draw the world's best books to China while also promoting Chinese books globally.
It also enhances international cultural and scientific exchange, expands joint publishing and copyright trade between China and other countries, and develops book importing and exporting.
