Rescue 1122 Official And Brother Freed In Bannu As Kidnappings Rise, Teacher Still Missing
In response, the district police launched sustained operations, including multiple search and strike actions across different localities, successfully recovering five abductees.
However, despite ongoing efforts, government schoolteacher Farman Ali Shah, who was abducted from the Miryan area more than two months ago, remains missing. Tribal elders continue to press for his safe return.
Sources reveal that the kidnappers demanded ransom for Shah's release, which his family refused to pay.
In a separate incident, Rescue 1122 staffer Abrar and his brother Faheem Khan, who were abducted from the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station on Tuesday evening, have been released. This is the first reported case involving the abduction of a Rescue 1122 employee in the district.

Speaking to the media, Rescue 1122 Emergency Officer Bakhtullah Wazir stated,“Our entire team remained anxious throughout the night. Law enforcement agencies, including the police, extended full cooperation. District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kallachi remained in constant contact and assured us of all possible support.”
He confirmed that both Abrar and Faheem have been recovered and brought to Mandan Police Station, and are being shifted to a hospital for medical evaluation.
Regarding the motive, Wazir said it would be premature to speculate whether the abduction was due to a misunderstanding or for ransom. The truth will emerge once the victims provide their official statements.
DPO Kallachi stated that investigations are underway to determine which group may have been involved, though no clear conclusions have been reached yet.
It is worth noting that the family of Abrar and Faheem had filed a missing person report at the Mandan Police Station shortly after their disappearance.
