Originally co-written and produced by Lightman, the track captures the challenges and triumphs of embracing identity and maturity in an industry obsessed with youth.

Co-written with close friends, hit makers Shane Stevens (Lady A, Walker Hayes, Meghan Trainor) and Nash Overstreet (Taylor Swift, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears), "Higher" was brought to life during a reflective songwriting retreat at Lightman's home shortly after she became a mother. With her six-month-old son Leo in a baby seat beside her, Lightman, Stevens, and Overstreet shared candid conversations about turning 40, and the pressure to stay relevant-conversations that shaped the soul of the song.
