Ukraine-Russia Talks Begin In Istanbul
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations has started in Istanbul.
This was reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.
The meeting began with a delay. It was previously reported that it would start at 12:30 Kyiv time.
Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation held trilateral talks with representatives from the United States and Türkiye.
As Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi noted, the main priority for the Ukrainian delegation during the negotiations will be a full, unconditional, and lasting ceasefire. This will serve as the key indicator of whether the Russian side is genuinely ready to engage constructively in Istanbul.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who is leading Ukraine's delegation in Istanbul, announced that Ukraine is ready for a full ceasefire and direct negotiations at the highest level.
