ABF Names Squad For West Asia Baseball Cup
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Baseball Federation (ABF) has named a 20-member squad for the upcoming 2025 West Asia Baseball Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to begin tomorrow (Thursday) in Karaj, Iran. ABF announced the team on its Facebook page.
Squad:Abdul Ghafour (captain), Karamat, Dilawar, Usman Ghani, Sirajuddin, Ahmadullah, Tariq, Habibullah, Allah Mohammad, Kashif Ahmad, Ehsanullah, Usman, Najm
- Islam, Mohammad Asif, Sediqullah, Aziz Khan, Amir Khan, Matiullah, Dost Mohammad and Sulaiman.
National teams from Afghanistan, Palestine, India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Pakistan and Bangladesh are participating in this year's event.
The Afghan squad, which arrived in Karaj city on Tuesday, will kick off its campaign against Palestine on 16 May.
Afghanistan has been placed in group A alongside Palestine, India and Sri Lanka.
Afghanistan will take on Sri Lanka in their second match on May 17 and their final group-stage fixture will be against India on May 18.
