Rain, Thunderstorms Expected Across KP As Met Office Warns Of Hail And Possible Landslides


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Peshawar: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy weather with chances of rain and thunderstorms across most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 24 hours, with hailstorms also likely in some areas.

According to the weather advisory, rainfall is expected in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Dir, Malakand, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kohat, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, and both North and South Waziristan.

Rainfall recorded yesterday included 11mm in Dir, 10mm in Peshawar, 9mm in Balakot, and 8mm each in Kakul and Timergara. Abbottabad, Swat, Mansehra, and Mardan also experienced moderate showers.

Peshawar's minimum temperature was recorded at 24°C, with the maximum expected to reach up to 38°C. Malam Jabba saw the lowest temperature in the province at 11°C, followed by Kalam at 12°C.

The Met Office has urged citizens to take precautionary measures in light of the forecast, especially travelers in mountainous areas, warning them to be alert for rain-induced landslides.
