
Moecc Holds Awareness Workshop On Marine Environment Protection
Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Marine Protection Department, organized an awareness workshop for students at Umm Salal Primary School for Girls, addressing ways to protect the marine environment in the State of Qatar.
The workshop was presented Assistant Director of the Marine Protection Department at the MoECC Abdullah Al Khulaifi. He reviewed national efforts to preserve the marine environment and the measures taken to limit human encroachments that threaten it. He emphasized the MoECC's role in managing and monitoring marine protected areas and ensuring their compliance with international environmental standards, thus ensuring the sustainability of the country's marine ecosystems.
Al Khalifi emphasized the importance of community awareness and active participation from all segments of society, especially the young, in protecting natural resources. He noted that this workshop is part of a series of awareness-raising initiatives implemented by the MoECC to instill an environmental culture and foster a sense of responsibility toward the environment.
The MoECC continues to implement its awareness and training programs in cooperation with educational institutions and relevant entities as part of its vision to ensure a sustainable marine environment for future generations.
