MSDF Wraps Up Cultural Crafts Preservation Programme
Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, on Sunday wrapped up the cultural crafts preservation programme.
The year-long programme continued in partnership with Qatar Museums (QM), represented by Qatar's epicenter for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion, and technology (M7), alongside the Social Development Center (NAMA).
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry highlighted that the programme focused on Sadu weaving techniques, along with the importance of preserving and advancing them to keep up with the world of modern design.
Director of the Family Empowerment Department, Fatima Al Nuaimi, affirmed that the programme aspires to transform participants into professional craft owners rather than mere consumers, and empower individuals who wield the skill of Sadu weaving to internalize this skill by training owners of productive ventures.
