Historic Building Damaged In Dnipro As Result Of Russian Attack

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Dnipro, a historic building, the Palace of Prince Potemkin, was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack.

This was reported in Telegram by Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov, Ukrinform reports.

“What kind of ... freaks ... do you have to be to shoot at the very center of the city, at dense residential buildings and in the process destroy the historic building of the palace of Grand Duke Potemkin, which he built for Catherine II?” Filatov wrote.

He added that the building, which now houses the Palace of Students and Youth, will be restored.

“But we will rename it in honor of Hetman Sahaidachny. He was the one who burned Moscow,” he added.

Potemkin Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Dnipro , an architectural monument of national importance. The exact date of construction of the palace has not been established - it was built between 1786 and 1790.

As reported, fires broke out in Dnipro at night due to a drone attack. Three people were injured . Businesses, educational and cultural institutions, and more than ten high-rise buildings were damaged in the city. More than 60 cars were damaged, and several more were destroyed.
