Eid Travel Surge: DXB To Welcome Over 3.6 M Visitors

Dhaka: Anticipating a holiday surge during Eid, Dubai International (DXB)-the primary gateway to the United Arab Emirates and the world's largest international airport-is preparing for a significant increase in passenger traffic. More than 3.6 million travelers are expected to pass through its terminals between March 26 and April 7, with peak travel anticipated during this period."

In a press statement, Dubai Airports states that April 5 is expected to be the busiest day, with 309,000 passengers travelling. On average, daily traffic is projected to reach 276,000 passengers, with the highest increase occurring in the first week of April.

It also adds that the airport has witnessed a 19 pc rise in departures compared to the previous month, thus reflecting a seasonal boost in travel demand.

Dubai Airports also highlights that with schools breaking for spring, demand remains strong for key visiting friends and relatives (VFR) destinations such as India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, alongside increased leisure travel to Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.

As per press statement, aiming to facilitate smooth passenger movement during this peak period, Dubai Airports has introduced DXB Express Maps a smart navigation tool that provides real-time wayfinding across terminals, by scanning a QR code displayed on flight information screens, through which travellers can locate their gates, browse dining and retail options, or find nearby facilities with ease.

Additionally, Dubai Airports also says that it is enhancing services for People of Determination (PoD), by offering clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet support for guests wearing sunflower lanyards from trained staff, and a dedicated assisted travel lounge in Terminal 2.
