Beijing Opposes Washington's Including Chinese Entities In Export Control List

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIJING, March 26 (KUNA) -- China expressed strong opposition on Wednesday to the United States' addition of 11 Chinese entities to an export control list on the grounds of "military ties."
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement, as reported by Xinhua News Agency, that this American move aims to suppress and contain entities from other countries and deny them their right to development.
It noted that such actions would severely harm the rights and legitimate interests of the relevant entities and undermine the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
The statement added that the American measure does not contribute to creating a favorable environment for resolving issues between the two countries through dialogue and cooperation, urging Washington to stop its wrongful practices.
It was emphasized that China would take necessary measures to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Chinese companies.
In a related development, Chinese Vice Premier and the principal Chinese official responsible for economic and trade affairs between China and the United States, He Lifeng, held talks today via video with U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer, during which they exchanged views on major economic and trade issues between the two countries in a "frank and in-depth" manner.
Chinese Central Television (CCTV) reported in a statement that he expressed Beijing's serious concerns about the U.S. imposing additional tariffs on Chinese goods under the pretext of the fentanyl issue and launching trade investigations under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, in addition to the Trump administration's plan to impose "reciprocal tariffs."
Both sides agreed that maintaining the stability of economic and trade relations is in their mutual interest, reiterating their desire to keep communication channels open on issues of mutual concern. (end)
