Aqaba Container Terminal Expands Community Support Through 15th Annual “Ahl Al-Khair” Initiative

(MENAFN- Asdaa-amman) (Aqaba, Jordan – 25 March 2025) – Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), the preferred gateway for the Levant region and beyond, continues its commitment to corporate social responsibility with the launch of the 15th edition of its annual “Ahl Al-Khair” initiative during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of this year’s initiative, ACT has distributed 500 shopping vouchers, each valued at JD 40, to families in Aqaba. These vouchers, redeemable for essential food items and daily necessities, provide beneficiaries with choice, ensuring they can purchase items that best suit their needs while supporting local businesses.
Commenting on the initiative, Harald Nijhof, CEO of Aqaba Container Terminal, said, “At ACT, we believe that corporate responsibility extends beyond business operations; it is about standing together as a community. Through the Ahl Al-Khair initiative, we aim to make a meaningful impact by supporting families in need, fostering solidarity, and upholding the spirit of giving that defines Ramadan. We are proud to continue this initiative for the 15th consecutive year and remain dedicated to uplifting our community in every way we can.”
In addition, ACT has collaborated with Helping Hand for Relief and Development to distribute 150 food packages to underserved communities in Aqaba, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring more families have access to nutritious meals during the holy month.
As part of its broader CSR strategy, ACT remains steadfast in its mission to be a key driver of trade and logistics in Jordan and to lead by example in social responsibility. It aims to extend its contributions beyond the port to create a lasting, positive impact on the people of Aqaba. Ahl Al-Khair, a long-standing program, reflects ACT’s dedication to empowering local communities, fostering solidarity, and making a tangible difference in the lives of families in need. It is one of many CSR initiatives ACT implements year-round, focusing on education, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment, all aimed at fostering long-term community development.
