France Concerned Over Tension In S. Lebanon

PARIS, March 22 (KUNA) -- The French Foreign Ministry expressed concern over the renewed outbreak of fighting in southern Lebanon.
The Ministry condemned, in a statement on Saturday, the rocket attacks against Israel from Lebanon, while calling on Israel to exercise restraint in its response.
France reiterated the importance of not compromising the significant progress made in recent months to ensure the security of Israelis and Lebanese people on both sides of the Blue Line, statement added.
Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot conveyed these messages to his counterparts of both sides. (end)
