Housing Minister Calls For Swift Completion Of Fustat Hills Gardens Project
El-Sherbiny received an in-depth briefing on the ongoing work across various areas of the project, including the investment zone, riverfront, adventure zone, heritage area, hills, green spaces, and infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of continuing the work even during holidays to ensure swift completion and to meet the project's ambitious timelines.
In his remarks, the Minister urged the ministry's task force to hold individual meetings with each company to closely monitor progress and ensure that any challenges are addressed. He stressed the importance of regular on-site monitoring to maintain momentum and ensure timely delivery.
The Fustat Hills Gardens project, which spans more than 500 feddans in the heart of historic Cairo-an area previously used as a waste dump-is set to become one of the largest parks of its kind in the Middle East. Designed to celebrate Egypt's rich heritage across multiple eras, including Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic, and modern periods, the park will feature cultural, commercial, and recreational activities. Key attractions will include open-air theaters, an archaeological site with ancient excavations, heritage gardens, and a unique cultural experience that blends past and present.
At the heart of the park, a large plateau will offer stunning views of iconic landmarks, including the Giza Pyramids, Salah El-Din Citadel, and Cairo's minarets, further enhancing the park's cultural and historical significance.
El-Sherbiny reaffirmed the government's commitment to fully supporting the project and ensuring its rapid completion, with the goal of creating a vibrant space for both locals and tourists to enjoy.
