
Ukrainian PM, Czech President Discuss Defense Cooperation

Shmyhal thanked the Czech Republic for its steadfast support of Ukraine since the first days of Russia's full-scale aggression, including the supply of critical resources and significant contributions to infrastructure reconstruction.
"The Czech Republic's patronage over the Dnipropetrovsk region is an effective tool for restoring local communities. We look forward to the continuation and expansion of recovery projects. We also expect the inaugural meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech working group on Ukraine's reconstruction to take place soon, in line with agreements made during joint government consultations," Shmyhal said.

The discussion focused on economic cooperation and defense-industrial collaboration, particularly the prospects for establishing and developing high-tech enterprises.
"Ukraine is interested in attracting Czech investments. For this, we have a network of industrial parks that offer new opportunities for foreign investors. We are grateful to the Czech Republic for supporting Ukraine on its path to EU membership. Despite the ongoing war, we are maintaining strong momentum in European integration and working on opening all six negotiation clusters with the EU," Shmyhal said.
According to him, Pavel assured continued Czech support for Ukraine, with all existing assistance projects set to continue and expand.
On March 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Czech President Petr Pavel visited the village of Moschun in the Kyiv region, where intense battles against Russian invaders took place in 2022.
