Palestinian Endowment: 80,000 Worshipers Perform Friday Prayers In Al-Aqsa Mosque

RAMALLAH, March 21 (KUNA) -- Some 80,000 performed Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, said the Islamic Awqaf (Endowment).
Source added that despite the cold weather and rain, people flocked to Friday prayers; however, Israeli occupation police had only allowed certain age groups to attend the prayers providing they obtain a permit.
The Jerusalem governorate indicated that around 3,000 occupation police were deployed in the old city and the area surrounding Al-Aqsa, harassing some worshipers and preventing them from attending prayers. (end)
