Brazilian Mobility Giant Randoncorp Reports 112% Profit Surge Despite Higher Debt

(MENAFN- The Rio Times) Randoncorp, the leading Brazilian mobility solutions provider, reported its fourth quarter and full-year 2024 results yesterday, revealing remarkable performance despite multiple operational challenges.

The company posted a net profit of R$117.8 million ($20.7 million) in the fourth quarter, representing a 112.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Revenue for the quarter reached R$3.26 billion ($571.9 million), up 27.5% year-over-year.

For the full year 2024, Randoncorp achieved its highest-ever consolidated revenue of R$11.9 billion ($2.09 billion), growing 9.4% from 2023. Annual profit totaled R$408.5 million ($71.7 million), a 7% increase over the previous year.

The company boosted its global footprint through strategic acquisitions. Its largest international purchase occurred in June when it acquired Mexican auto parts company Kuo Refacciones for R$2.1 billion ($368.4 million).

Randoncorp also bought UK-based EBS Group for approximately R$410 million ($71.9 million) in October. Most recently, the company acquired US-based AXN Heavy Duty for $12.3 million plus $37 million for inventory.

AXN reported annual revenue of $65 million for fiscal year 2024. Sergio Carvalho, CEO of Randoncorp , described 2024 as "a good year" despite numerous challenges.
Randoncorp Faces Challenges Amid Expansion Strategy
The company faced reduced truck sales due to emission technology changes, agricultural sector underperformance, disruptive floods in Rio Grande do Sul, and rising interest rates.

The aggressive expansion strategy increased Randoncorp's net debt to R$4.68 billion ($821.1 million), up 47.5% year-over-year. The leverage ratio rose to 2.89 times EBITDA from 2.02 times at the end of 2023.

Carvalho expects this ratio to improve to around 2.0-2.2 times by the end of 2025 as acquired companies fully integrate into operations. He noted that combined revenues with all acquired companies would exceed R$14 billion ($2.46 billion).

The company now operates 31 industrial units worldwide and serves over 120 countries. This expansion strengthens Randoncorp's position in global automotive components markets while diversifying its revenue streams across developed economies.
