Malaysian Premier Demands Accountability Over Israel’s Bombing in Gaza
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Malaysian Premier Anwar Ibrahim demanded responsibility regarding Israel’s recent airstrikes of Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of over 400 people and left hundreds more wounded.
In a post on X, Ibrahim condemned Israel’s actions, stating, "Israel’s latest bombardment of Gaza, killing over 400 Palestinians, is heinous and indefensible."
He further emphasized, "The wholesale destruction of a besieged population with no means of escape can never be justified on the pretext of self-defense."
Ibrahim also pointed out that the ongoing struggles in ceasefire negotiations do not justify "collective punishment."
"The international community must hold Israel to account and demand an immediate end to these atrocities," he concluded.
In a separate statement, Malaysia's Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan declared that the nation is ready to accept 15 Palestinian prisoners of war as part of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Gaza.
Based on a Malaysian news agency, Hasan revealed that some of these prisoners had been detained by Israel for more than 20 years without trial and would be prevented from coming back to Palestine.
