
Kabul, Tashkent Discuss Mining Cooperation
KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Mines and petroleum Mullah Hidayatullah Badri and Uzbek delegates have discussed bilateral cooperation in the survey, exploration, extraction and processing of minerals.
Badri met Advisor for Foreign Operations at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Geology and Mines Behzad Mermodov and the delegation accompanying him, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) said in a statement.
Badri reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to expanding investment opportunities for both national and international investors in Afghanistan's mining sector. He assured the Uzbek delegation of all necessary support.
For his part, Mermodov talked about the gas project in the Tuti Maidan area of Jawzjan province and the iron mine in the Khwesh locality of Maidan Wardak province.
He expressed Uzbekistan's interest in collaborating with Afghanistan at surveying, exploration, extraction and processing minerals.
