Afghanistan’s Monthly Trade Exceeds USD1.2 bn


(MENAFN) Afghanistan’s trade volume exceeded 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in the past month, according to data released by the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) on Monday.

The report indicated that Afghanistan’s exports totaled over 144 million dollars, while imports reached 1.08 billion dollars during the same period.

India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates served as the main destinations for Afghan exports, whereas Iran, China, and Pakistan were the leading suppliers of imported goods.

Afghanistan's leading exports consisted of fresh and dried fruits, handmade carpets, traditional handicrafts, saffron, as well as precious and semi-precious stones. Meanwhile, its main imports comprised petroleum derivatives, refined oil, industrial machinery, vehicle components, as well as metal materials.
