(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Niger's army announced that it rescued 50 migrants stranded in the northern desert near the Libyan border, a crossing point on the road to Europe.
The army said in a press release that the 50 migrants, including 20 women and 12 children, were stranded under harsh weather conditions when the vehicle they were traveling in broke down last Friday.
It added that army units provided assistance to them in the Djado Plateau in Niger, located about 200 kilometers from the border with Libya.
